5 tips to help you look more youthful now | Refresh Your Bio

Need a little help looking young and fabulous? These five tips will get you started!

Celebrating the gift of aging is not celebrated enough in our culture, which instead looks for perceived flaws and uses them to make people feel inferior. Services are available that promise to help us look younger or get attention, but these services often come with a hefty price tag. Living and growing is the real flex; simple tips can be used on a budget to help one look their best without spending too much money.

1. Update your face. Go bold or soft with lip gloss. Lip glosses are your friend. Use a hint of color to invoke femininity and elegance to even out your look. For a bold look, you can have fun with a bold, radiant red pop look or dark colors that make a statement. Continue your foundation or a little dab of bronzer onto your lips and then a whiff of lip gloss, and you are good to go. You can add a lip liner to refine your lip shape, blot, blend, and voilรก! Make sure your makeup is not heavy and matches your skin tone. Add a bronzer to help shape the edges of your face. Use a touch of blush. Highlight your cheekbones with some shimmer to complete your look. Get your eyebrows shaped, and instantly your face is updated.

2. Have a skin care regimen. Moisturize. This helps you achieve a softer look and is excellent for your body. You get what you put out; your skin will thank you when you add quality face creams or oils like sweet almond and coconut oil. Take time to sanitize your makeup products and discard old makeup. Use eye and face masks or do D.I.Y. (Disregard immediately if your skin breaks out and see a dermatologist if you have susceptible skin.)

3. Know your colors and then add some pop. You don’t have to break the bank to look more youthful, including updating your wardrobe. A simple white cotton shirt with contrasting patterns of unexpected fun can add a dimension of wow. But don’t stop there! Specific colors bring you out more than others. If you have tanner skin, have fun with teals, olives, and a fun tomato color on your lips. Think fruits and vegetables. If you are medium brown, have fun with solids like oranges, turquoise, red wine reds, coppers, and golds. If you are on the darker side like myself, have fun with pastels, muted grays, whites, and tan shades. Think contrast! Have fun with your nail colors, whether natural or with tips. Shape matters and can elongate your hands like heels with feet. Remember, you can always change the colors!

4. Accessorize. Have fun with geometrically shaped bags embellished with stones, sparkles, and bright colors. Have fun with textures, monograms, lace, denim, and Sherpa, to mention a few. Update your readers or prescription glasses to a fun shape, pattern, or pop of color. Tortoiseshell is universal; Ivory and black or Red are glam staple pieces. Get some lively-shaped earrings that show off your personality. Have a good time with studs, ear cuffs, dangling earrings, or geometrical or large hoops. Wear colorful scarves around your hair and neck, or attach them to your bag for a special touch.

5. Affirmations. To feel your best starts with you speaking your best. You can have the most put-together look but not believe how amazing you are. It starts with you speaking positive words about yourself daily and repeating them until you feel them. You are only as unique as you believe, and that will always shine brightly from the inside out.
