Don’t Stay In Your Head Too Much

It’s Dangerous There

Don’t stay in your head too much. It is dangerous there and not safe. Although it can have pros and cons, we all know that too much or too little can make one big mess.

One of the pros that overthinking can help us with is preparation. We have a plan and a solid idea of what the outcome will be. We have built up confidence in this way. We are more than likely to get better results because we prepared. We also have history and experience. When it comes to similar scenarios, we have our practices to rely upon.

On the other hand, we don’t stay in our heads enough. We follow what feels right and think about the consequences later on. Whenever we feel it, we move on it, and sometimes our feelings lead us right back to where we started. We also build up our confidence in this way because it has proven to be reliable as well. After all, we remember how good we felt, and then, later on, we recognize the terrible times we experienced.

Nevertheless, this way works, and we stick to it. Even if it hurts us.

Some of us tend to lean to one over the other, and we have the stories and scars to prove it. They both can take us high and low because of the quantity we use in our decision-making. Speaking of making choices, what if you are tired of getting the same breakeven results?

I have discovered how nauseating it is to be in my head so much. It is a lot! While it is commendable to prepare, preparation is not prevention. No one that dreamed big; has ever dreamed big without feeling nightmares of fear and disappointments. No one that has loved; has ever loved without knowing what feeling heartbroken felt like firsthand. In other words, there is a balance that must take place between your mind and your heart.

Don’t stay in your head too much because your mind can never replace communicating with others or anything you desire to avoid. Your mind has great ideas, but it doesn’t solve the whole picture or puzzle of life. People and matters of the heart need an even exchange before you reach a higher level of authentic joy.

And joy includes connecting kindly with others. We are not meant to be loners of life.

Try paying attention to your weaknesses if you struggle to build a better balance between thinking and feeling. Being extreme in your approach can never even come close to your targeted happiness. If you overthink, try to do little things that help bring up or express your vulnerabilities more. Express how you feel to others. Listen more carefully to people speaking and pick up on their nonverbal cues. It’s fascinating to discover new ways to communicate to and from the heart.

If you tend to follow your emotions, try to add some brakes to your mind. If you feel flustered, stop and breathe. Count down 10 – 1 and relax. Express what you think to a trusted friend or family member and talk it through instead of reacting. You can always pick up a pen and write it down on paper. Turn up the essential oils and create new ways to relax by setting up a calm atmosphere that can build you up and help you to calm down.

If you are not a great communicator, take baby steps.

Write down some options that you would put more refinery on your actions and hold yourself accountable. Don’t be afraid to admit that you struggle in this area. Take your time and take a slow and steady change moving forward. No perfect person is walking this Earth. If anyone seems perfect, it is because they correct their errors along the way. Practice will help build up your confidence. Too much thinking and feeling is addictive and leaves you susceptible to a routine that makes no progress.

Your emotions or thoughts used excessively could take you to unwanted and unavailable places. The balance of timing yourself and your thoughts will help you arrive at your destination of progress in a healthier way that makes space for your thoughts and feelings to manifest beautifully and effectively in real life in real-time.
