Welcome to Refresh Your Bio

Hi, I’m Lesley Nurse, and this is my new blog, Refresh Your Bio. I discuss inspirational tips that anyone can do that can positively impact their life right now. How do I help you refresh your bio? I help transform others’ lives through podcasts, books, home decor, from gardening to fashion. Basically, whatever flows, and I found that it has successfully helped me.

Like so many of us, I was laid off, but it gave me time to focus on my writing. Before I was laid off, I kept a flexible job that paid the bills and allowed me the freedom to pursue my dreams. This has also been a time that left many suffering mentally, energetically, and financially. However, this pandemic has been a common thread that we all have shared at the same time.

A little about me, I have written and illustrated children’s books, self-care journals, and relationship books on healing from a breakup. The portfolio is extensive, and I am proud of them all because I look back and see that it was the passion and purpose behind my projects. Some authors or other artists, dreamers, entrepreneurs share a secret club of trying until tired, and it can be more tiring, but we never give up. In other words, I’m not a household name as yet, but I love it all.

So how did I get here?

The quiet journey of ups and downs, struggles, feeling like giving up are the authentic sauces in my appetite. I wanted to help someone else and simply say, you are not alone. Whether you are aspiring to be successful else or live a completely different life or make a dream come true, my blog offers things that you can do in the meantime to manage the ups and downs or add some more joy to your life!

Sometimes we get overwhelmed by life, and it feels like too much to put on others, or you have worn out their emotional welcome and have to deal with things solo. Nevertheless, it’s not too late. In fact, I feel like life is right on time! It doesn’t mean that now that you are willing to take a new step, there won’t be rejections, heartache, or disappointments. It means that you will have the tools to embrace it all and trust there is a reason and a bigger picture than what your eyes can see.

So who is ready?

I am! I have put this off for so long, being here and there and building things and finding out that I have other passions, newly discovered skills, and learned lessons that are cathartic. Sometimes we think that change or progress has to come about in a certain way. Let’s pop that bubble right now because it is wide open! One way might work for you and another way for someone else. It’s the beauty of life when done without care.

Well, you want to care, just not overthink.

By the way, if you do have a problem with caring too much, you should really check out my ebook, also available in audiobook, Your Right. I Don’t Care. I learned a lot about how much angst I had that came out unhealthy and attracted the wrong people. I was shocked how it helped me because I wrote it, but I came away feeling accountable and enthused about dealing with anxiety or overthinking more healthily. I’m glad that we had time to connect, and I look forward to our connection growing more robust as time flows.

Until then, Lesley, Keep Refreshing!
